January 9, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush collected four goals in the opening seven and a half minutes of Saturday's contest against the Allen Americans to come away with a 4-2 win. The victory means the Rapid City Rush will head to the 2011 All-Star break in first place of the Turner Conference. The Rush will next be in action on Wednesday at 6:35pm, when they take on the 2011 CHL All-Stars. Tickets are still available.

Rush captain, Scott Wray, led the Rush out of the gate by scoring the game's first two goals. The first tally came at the 4:22 mark when a loose puck caromed to the goal mouth, and Wray poked home his 11th goal of the season. Wray struck again at the 6:30 mark when his wrap around deflected off of the netminders skate and in, doubling the Rush lead. Just 16 seconds later, Les Reaney's centering pass found Kevin Harvey in the slot for his third goal of the season. Finally, the Rush would make it a 4-0 game off of Konrad Reeder's first goal in a Rush uniform. Brendon Hodge broke into the offensive zone and slid a shot that was redirected by Reeder and snuck through the pads of Adrien LeMay. The Americans would finally stop the bleeding on a shorthanded goal from Jarrett Lukin at the 11:17 mark. Heading into the first intermission, the Rush held a 4-1 lead.

The Americans would again chip away at the lead, scoring the only goal of the second period. Midway through the frame, Dave Bonk took advantage of a broken play, spinning a shot home from the bottom of the right circle, bringing the game to its 4-2 final.

The Rush are back in action this Wednesday at 6:35pm in the 2011 CHL All-Star Game. Tickets are still available.
