
Early Burst Sends Chasers over Dodgers

Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - Omaha built an early 6-run advantage, and held off the Oklahoma City Dodgers over the rest of the game in an 8-5 victory on Wednesday night at Bricktown Ballpark.
Omaha grabbed the lead in the top of the 1st against Dodgers starter Guillermo Moscoso. Adalberto Mondesi singled, and Ryan O'Hearn hit his 6th homer of the year.
The Chasers added 4 runs in the top of the 2nd. Paulo Orlando walked, and with 2 out, Terrance Gore walked. Billy Burns tripled to right field, driving in 2 runs. Adalberto Mondesi followed with a 2-run longball to right, giving Omaha a 6-0 lead.
Oklahoma City pulled a run back in the bottom of the 2nd on a Travis Taijeron homer, and Jake Peter's solo home run in the bottom of the 3rd cut the lead to 6-2.
Moscoso (L, 2-3) worked 5 innings, allowing 6 runs, 8 hits, and 3 walks. He struck out 1.
Glenn Sparkman (W, 3-0) also pitched the first 5 frames for Omaha, holding the Dodgers to 2 runs on 7 hits. He struck out 2 and issued no walks.
The Chasers picked up 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning. Terrance Gore reached on an error, Billy Burns bunted for a hit, and Adalberto Mondesi walked. With the bases loaded, Frank Schwindel was hit by a pitch, scoring Gore, and a wild pitch subsequently brought Mondesi home. It was 8-2 Omaha.
OKC plated a run in the bottom of the 6th against Eric Stout , as Edwin Rios doubled, went to 3rd on a groundout, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Travis Taijeron. The Dodgers scored 2 more against Justin Grimm in the bottom of the 7th; Rocky Gale doubled, advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch, and came in on a single by Kyle Farmer. Singles by Alex Verdugo and Edwin Rios loaded the bases, and Farmer scored on a wild pitch, reducing Omaha's advantage to 8-5.
Richard Lovelady (S, 2) restored order with a scoreless bottom of the 8th, striking out the side in order. He finished the game with 3 more outs in the 9th, icing the Chasers' 7th victory in their last 8 games.
The Storm Chasers (23-29) will continue the series tomorrow evening at 7:05. LHP Jon Dziedzic (2-5, 3.25) will throw for Omaha, while Oklahoma City will counter with LHP Caleb Ferguson.
