Eansor Agrees to Terms with Islanders

EAST MEADOW - The New York Islanders announced today that forward Scott Eansor has agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract.

Eansor, 21, is second on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in goals (16) this season as a rookie. He has 22 points (16 goals, six assists) and six power-play tallies in 57 American Hockey League games.

Prior to his professional career, Eansor spent each of the last four seasons with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He recorded 38 points (18 goals, 20 assists) in 40 games last season and ranked second on the team in short-handed goals (three), and fourth in game-winning goals (four), while serving as co-captain alongside current Islanders forward, Mathew Barzal. In addition, Eansor collected 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 20 playoff games, helping Seattle capture the 2017 WHL title.

The Englewood, Colo. native totaled 129 points (47 goals, 82 assists) and a plus-23 rating in 219 WHL games, all with Seattle.

Eansor also played on the international stage with Team USA's U-20 World Junior Championships club in 2015-16. The 5'9, 174-pound center notched a goal and a plus-2 rating in seven games, helping USA to a bronze medal.
