Wednesday, March 21 Eagles 4 vs. Lubbock Cotton Kings 1
The Colorado Eagles defeated the Lubbock Cotton Kings 4-1 Wednesday night in their final regular season game at the Budweiser Events Center. The Eagles finished their home schedule with their best record in franchise history at 28-4-0. Riley Nelson scored his 40th goal of the season. Ed McGrane added a goal and an assist and Brad Williamson and Ryan Tobler each added two assists in the Eagles franchise-record 45th win of the season.
Friday, March 23 Eagles 8 at New Mexico Scorpions 3
The Colorado Eagles handily defeated the New Mexico Scorpions 8-3 Friday night at the Santa Ana Star for their 46th victory of the season. Seven different players had goals for Colorado including Ryan Tobler's two goals. The Eagles finished the season 7-0 against New Mexico and they are now 22-2-4 against the Scorpions all-time. Marco Emond stopped 43 of 46 shots in his 28th win of the season.
Saturday, March 24 Eagles 4 at Arizona Sundogs 8
The Colorado Eagles were defeated by the Arizona Sundogs 8-4 Saturday night in the final regular season game at the Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley. The Eagles finished their season 46-17-1 for a total of 93 points and their most wins in franchise history.

Games one and two of the Northern Conference Quarter-Finals will be at the Budweiser Events Center. The Eagles are the #2 seed in the playoffs finishing just one-point behind the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in the race for the Governors' Cup. Youngstown closed out the season as the number five seed with a record of 34-20-10. The Eagles are 8-1 all-time against the SteelHounds winning their first eight contests before losing to the SteelHounds 3-2 on March 18, 2007. The last three games of the series have all been decided by one goal. The Eagles are 4-1 in the season series and Riley Nelson leads all scorers in goals (5) and points (7). The SteelHounds have the league's top scorer and MVP in Jeff Christian who finished the season with 116 points on 38 goals and 78 assists. The series is a best-of-seven series and will follow a 2-3-2 format. Games six and seven if necessary will be at the Budweiser Events Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10th and 11th.

MAN OF THE YEAR- Riley Nelson was selected as the CHL's Man of the Year for the 2006-07 season. His outstanding play on the ice is coupled with his outstanding efforts in the Northern Colorado community. The Man of the Year award goes to the player who is "judged to have best exemplified leadership qualities on and off the ice, while making significant and noteworhy humanitarian contributions to his community." Riley Nelson has certainly done so, and not just this season, but since he has joined the Eagles in 2003.
MOST OUTSTANDING DEFENSEMAN- Eagles veteran defenseman Brad Williamson was named the CHL's Most Outstanding Defenseman for the 2006-07 season. The award is "presented annually to the Central Hockey League defenseman who has demonstrated the greatest all-round ability in the position." Williamson, a three-time CHL All-Star was named to the All-CHL Team earlier in the week and finished just ahead of Memphis' Derek Landmesser in voting. He leads all CHL defensemen in scoring with 68 points and 58 assists, both of which are career-highs. Williamson's +29 plus/minus rating also led all defensemen and his 36 power play assists led all players in the CHL.
ONE SHORT- Riley Nelson finished the season just one-goal short for the lead in the Central Hockey League. His 41 goals were second to only Arizona's Brent Kelly who finished with 42.
BRING ON YOUNGSTOWN- The Eagles will take on the Youngstown SteelHounds in the first round of the playoffs. This is the Eagles fourth playoff appearance in as many years and Youngstown's first appearance in just their second season.
FOUR STRAIGHT- The Eagles won their fourth straight Northwest Division this season. Colorado has won the division each season since entering the league in 2003.
GAME TWO ON ALTITUDE- Game two of the first round series on Saturday, March 31st will be televised live on Altitude Sports & Entertainment starting at 7:00 p.m. Altitude can viewed on channel 644 on DirecTV and 410 on DISH Network.
