
RiverKings to face Oklahoma City in first round

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Memphis RiverKings will face the Oklahoma City Blazers as they return to the Central Hockey League playoffs this week. The Blazers became the fourth seeded team in the Northern Conference when Youngstown lost at Bossier-Shreveport yesterday. As the third seed, the RiverKings will have home ice advantage in the first round, but will actually start the series on the road due to building availability issues.
The best-of-seven first round series will start with game one at Oklahoma City on Thursday, March 29 at 7:05. The series will shift to the DeSoto Civic Center for games two and three on Friday, March 30 at 7:05 and Sunday April 1 at 4 pm. After game three, the sites will rotate every other game. Game four will be back at Oklahoma City on Tuesday, April 3 at 7:05, game five (if necessary) at the DCC on Friday, April 6 and at 7:05, game six (if necessary) at Oklahoma City on Saturday, April 7 at 7:35 with game seven (if necessary) back at the DCC on Tuesday, April 10 at 7:05.
The RiverKings/Blazers series opener on Thursday will kick-off the CHL playoffs, with the other five series beginning on Friday. A complete CHL playoff schedule can be found at www.centralhockeyleague.com.

The second round (Conference Semi-Finals) will consist of the victorious three teams from each conference's opening round, along with the highest seeded team which loses in the opening round. The three winning teams from each conference in the opening round will be reseeded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, with the highest seed team losing the opening round automatically seeded 4th for the remainder of the conference playoffs.
The 3rd round (Conference Finals) will consist of the victorious two teams remaining from each conference, with seeding Conference Semi-Final seeding remaining in effect to determine home ice advantage.
The 4th round (President's Cup Final) will consist of the victorious two teams remaining from their respective Conference playoffs. Home ice advantage in the Ray Miron President's Cup Finals will be awarded to the club with higher regular season point totals, regardless of any earlier playoff seeding.
