WINDSOR, CO – The Colorado Eagles took home many honors in the year-ending Central Hockey League "Best of the Best" poll for 2003-04. The Eagles were ranked in the top three in 11 of the 34 categories.

All 17 teams' public relations directors, coaches, and players were involved in the voting process. Right wing Greg Pankewicz received the Best Overall Player award. He was also No. 3 in the Best on Power Play, and No. 2 in the Hardest Shooter category. Left wing Ryan Tobler earned the Best Power Forward award and rookie Karlis Zirnis was just one point away from taking Best Rookie honors.

The Budweiser Events Center placed in four categories: No. 2 in Best Arena, No. 3 in Best Locker Rooms, No. 3 in Toughest Building to Win In, and No. 1 in Best Arena Concessions. Eagles fans were ranked No. 2 in the CHL behind Laredo who took home the most No. 1 votes with seven. Finally, the Eagles PA Announcer was voted No. 3. All of the results are listed below.

The Eagles finish off the regular season at home this weekend with a pair of games against the Fort Worth Brahmas. The puck drops at 3:05 pm on Saturday and 6:05 pm on Sunday. The Eagles need just one more point to clinch the Northwest Division title in their inaugural season, or the Wichita Thunder need to lose one more game in order for the Eagles to clinch.
