Bucks Beat Kings 4-3

SOUTHAVEN, Mississippi – The Bucks rallied from a two goal deficit to defeat the Memphis RiverKings 4-3 on Friday night at the DeSoto Civic Center. Goalie David Guerrera was terrific as he faced 41 shots and powered the Bucks to the win. Laredo improves to 47-7-5 with 99 points. The Bucks continue on the road this weekend visiting Tulsa on Saturday and Wichita on Sunday. Laredo returns home this Tuesday for an 11 a.m. game against Bossier-Shreveport. In a wild first period of play the teams traded goals. Bucks forward Max Birbraer slid the puck home just 3:18 in for his first of the night. The RiverKings came right back with a pair of power play goals as defenseman Derek Landmesser scored at 4:49 and forward Brian Tucker tallied at 8:09 made it 2-1 Memphis. Then RiverKings captain Don Parsons scored on a wrist shot from the left circle to make it 3-1 Memphis at 14:36. The Bucks answered back quickly as Birbraer scored again just 13 seconds later at 14:49 to cut the RiverKings lead to 3-2. Birbraer has 15 goals on the year. Just 38 seconds later defenseman Gabriel Proulx fired a shot that was stopped, but forward Serge Dube slipped it over the line to tie the game at 15:27. It was Dube's 17th of the year.

In the second period Laredo picked up the only goal as Dube slipped a pass in front that forward Steve Simoes stuffed home at the 13 minute mark to make it 4-3. It was the 16th of the season for Simoes.

In the third period Bucks goalie David Guerrera stopped all 15 shots to preserve the win. FINAL SCORE Laredo 4, Memphis 3.

Guerrera was outstanding as he stopped 38 of 41 shots to get the win and improve to 26-4-3. J.F. Racine took the loss as he allowed four goals on 25 shots to fall to 13-8-2. Laredo was 0-4 on the power play while Memphis was 2-4.
