Eagles & Sags Meet for Rematch at the Nest

Cape Breton Eagles News Release
It's only early in the QMJHL season, but tonight the Cape Breton Eagles will conclude their season series against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens at Centre 200. It's the back end of a two game set, with the Sags striking first with a 3-2 shootout victory last night.
The result followed a familiar pattern for the Eagles during their current home stand- all three games have seen the Eagles score a tying goal in the third period, only to lose in extra time. Last night's comeback was perhaps the most impressive of all- trailing 2-0 in the final four minutes, the Eagles reeled off back to back power play goals, each coming six on four with goaltender Félix Hamel on the bench. The tying goal came off of the stick of Eliot Litalien, who six days ago against Moncton tied the game with less than second left.
Hamel and his counterpart Raphaël Précourt were among the big stories last night, both shining in goal- Hamel stopped 24 shots while Précourt turned aside 26.
It was also a big night for Chicoutimi forward Émile Guité, who scored in regulation, added an assist, and also scored in the shootout. With the Sags' making their final visit to the Nest this season, it's the last chance this year for Eagles fans to see Guité (Anaheim), along with other NHL drafted players Maxime Massé (Anaheim), Alex Huang (Nashville), and Maxim Schäfer (Washington). It will also be an emotional night for former Eagle Xavier Daigle, who made his return to Cape Breton last night, and this evening will play likely his final ever game at Centre 200.
