Eads and Retzlaff Named Players of the Week

Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association (UIF) is pleased to announce that Beef linebacker Chris Eads has been named UIF Defensive Player of the Week and Beef kicker Ted Retzlaff has been named UIF Special Teams Player of the Week for their efforts against Evansville last Sunday.
Eads led all players with 7.5 total tackles, with 5 of them coming solo in Omaha's 75-34 home victory. Eads also returned a fumble for a touchdown and had an interception. Eads is currently 3rd in the UIF in tackles with 21 and has led the Beef to two consecutive victories.
Retzlaff contributed to the win with 21 points by going 9-for-9 in point-after-touchdown (PAT) attempts and 4-of-5 in field goal attempts vs. Evansville. Retzlaff currently leads the UIF in field goals made with 6.
"Chris and Ted were big contributors in our victory over Evansville and are very deserving of their honors. Chris has made quite an impact since joining the Beef and we expect him to continue to get better as the season progresses," stated Beef Head Coach Robert Fuller. "Ted really bounced back after missing his first FG attempt and was automatic the rest of the game. Ted accounted for 21 of our points and showed just how important the kicking game is in professional indoor football and how important he is to the Beef organization."
Omaha travels to Lexington to take on the Horsemen. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 CST. Sports Sub will be hosting a Listening Party on Saturday. Wear your Beef gear and cheer on the Beef at Sports Subs. The Beef return home on April 22, as they will battle the Sioux City Bandits at 7:05 PM. Individual game tickets still remain for all Beef home games and can be obtained by calling Jenny Cheney at the Omaha Beef Football office at 402-346-2333.
