Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo have re-signed Houston native Guillermo "Memo" Treviño as the club's official professional esports athlete, the club announced today.
Treviño, who plays under the gamertag "Kid M3Mito," took home the inaugural eMLS Cup, which took place at the popular gaming festival PAX East in Boston in April, qualifying him for the FIFA '18 Global Series Playoffs. The Houston native went undefeated in the inaugural eMLS Cup tournament, beating LyesMTL of the Montreal Impact 6-4 on aggregate in the eMLS Cup Final. Treviño posted a record of 19-0-3, and outscored his opponents by 94-47 highlighted by his record of most goals in a game against the Seattle Sounders FC player, Flickify, with a score of 11-3.

"I'm excited to rejoin the Dynamo again this year. It's an honor to represent my city and my club, and I'm looking forward to competing against the best in MLS and around the world," Treviño said. "I know the competition is only going to get tougher as eMLS keeps growing, but I'm ready for the challenge and ready to try and bring another championship back to Houston."
In November, Major League Soccer announced expansions to the eMLS program for 2019, including the addition of three teams to bring the total number of competitors up to 22. The competitive infrastructure for eMLS will expand to include the inaugural eMLS League Series presented by PlayStation.
The 2019 eMLS League Series will be comprised of two events: eMLS League Series One, hosted in conjunction with the LA Galaxy in January, and eMLS League Series Two, with FC Dallas in February. Each of these eMLS League Series events will include participation from all eMLS professional FIFA players and will result in their own distinct prizing opportunities. eMLS player performance across the two eMLS League Series events will determine seeding for the 2019 eMLS Cup presented by PlayStation.
Treviño recently qualified to play in the FUT Champions Cup, which will be held in January 2019. He will also compete in the FUT Champions Licensed Qualifying Event (LQE) next month. Specific dates and locations for those competitions have yet to be announced.
He finished November ranked 10th in the world and second in the Americas on the XBOX platform among all FIFA 18 players. Earlier this year, he qualified for the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs; and in the fall of 2017 he placed third in the XBOX division of the Americas Regional Final to qualify for the Ultimate Team Championship Series Finals in Berlin.
