HOUSTON, TX (Friday, May 8, 2009) - The Houston Dynamo renew their intra-state rivalry with FC Dallas in the first of three meetings this season at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday night at Robertson Stadium.

It is the only time the teams are scheduled to meet in Houston this season. In series history, 11 of the 14 total games have been decided by one goal or fewer.

The Dynamo (2-2-2) come into the game on a three-game unbeaten streak (2-0-1) and riding a 313-minute shutout streak, the second longest streak in Major League Soccer this season. Houston has also dominated the all-time series against FC Dallas, with a 7-2-5 record in all competitions and a 6-0-2 home mark. Forward Brian Ching has scored in each of the Dynamo's last two games and has 16 goals in his last 24 MLS regular season games.

FC Dallas (1-5-1) enters Saturday's match in last place in the Western Conference despite four goals in seven games from forward Kenny Cooper. Dallas is the current holder of El Capitán, the 18th-century cannon awarded to the winner of the season series each year, after the teams played to three ties last year. The series tie was broken by an away goals tiebreaker that no longer exists, allowing Dallas to claim the trophy for the first time in the three-year history of the rivalry.

The first 5,000 fans through the Robertson Stadium gates Saturday will receive a player poster, courtesy of NAPA Auto Parts, and an orange rally towel, courtesy of Taco Bell. The match can be seen on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes and heard in the Houston area on 790 The Sports Animal and 850 La Ranchera.

The Houston Dynamo are a Major League Soccer franchise that has won two MLS Cup championships in its first three seasons and represented the United States in three consecutive regional championships. The Dynamo return home on Saturday, May 9, for an 8:00 p.m. game against rival FC Dallas at Robertson Stadium, and fans will be treated to post-game fireworks.
