Dunedin Finishes a Three Game Weekend Series Today in Port Charlotte

ABOUT YESTERDAY: Charlotte defeated Dunedin by the final of 3-2 in game one of a scheduled doubleheader. The two teams exchanged early runs and with the game tied at two in the bottom of the sixth, Charlotte loaded the bases against RHP Kyle Weatherly. Michael Smith drew the walk to drive in the go-ahead run. Charlotte righty Chandler Raiden snatched the win after working an 1.1 out of the bullpen. The second game of the doubleheader was suspended due to curfew and will resume in the sixth inning with Dunedin up 1-0.

TODAY'S ACTION: The Blue Jays take on the Charlotte Stone Crabs in games two and three of a three game weekend series. After last night's suspended game, the two clubs will complete game two with Dunedin up 1-0 and then play the finale of the set in a seven inning ballgame. Dunedin comes into play tonight having lost nine of 11 but have won 13 of their last 22 games. Dunedin has gone 24-17 overall against Florida State League South Division opponents.

AGAINST CHARLOTTE: Dunedin and Charlotte play games two and three of a three game weekend series at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, FL. It's the ninth and 10th of 13 matchups between the two division leading teams in 2019 with the season series tied at four apiece. The Stone Crabs and Blue Jays split the four game series at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium in the early stages of June and will face off one more time in late August in Clearwater. Additionally, seven of the last eight matchups' final scores have been seperated by two runs or less. On the offensive side of things, the two clubs sit in the top five in runs scored, hits, batting average, walks, stolen bases, on-base and slugging percentage in the Florida State League.

ROAD WARRIORS: The D-Jays check into play tonight with the league's second best road record at 32-17 behind the Charlotte Stone Crabs. Dunedin has won eight of their last 12 games away from their home ballpark and have outscored their opponents 69-50 in visiting parks dating back to June 28th.
