Duff Reassigned to Arkansas, Thomas Joins Bees

SALT LAKE CITY (April 24, 2008) - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that catcher Tim Duff has been reassigned to double-A Arkansas and catcher Derrick Thomas has been called up to Salt Lake from Angels extended spring training.

Duff, 26, was called up to Salt Lake on April 21, but did not play in a game with the Bees. He hit .207 in nine games with one double and two RBI for Arkansas this season. The Coatsville, Pa. native spent the majority of the 2007 season in Arkansas, but was promoted to Salt Lake on July 29, where he spent the remainder of the season. In 10 games for the Bees, he hit .243 with seven RBI and two home runs.

Duff signed with the Angels on May 15, 2004 as a non-drafted free agent out of the University of Tampa.

Thomas, 25, joins the Bees from extended spring training for his first stint in triple-A. The Orem, Utah native played in six games for the Orem Owlz in 2007, hitting .571 with two RBI.
