The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled left wing Karl Stewart from the Chicago Wolves.
Stewart, who signed with Atlanta as a free agent on Sept. 28, 2001, is tied for second on the Wolves and fourth among American Hockey League rookies with five assists and shares third on the club and seventh among AHL first-year pros with seven points.
Last year, Stewart wrapped up his junior career with career-highs in goals (35), assists (50) and points (85) in 68 games with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League. Overall, the 20-year-old forward tallied 151 points (64G, 87A), a plus-81 rating and 311 penalty minutes in 201 games spanning his three-year career with Plymouth from 2000 to 2003.
