
Ducks Shut out Patriots 6-0 to Move Back into First Place Tie

Bridgewater, NJ - The Long Island Ducks (32-20) defeated the Somerset Patriots (32-20) 6-0 at TD Bank Ballpark on Thursday evening to move back into a first place tie in the Liberty Division.
The Ducks broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI double by Hector Sanchez.
Long Island added two more on a double by Steve Lombardozzi that made the score 3-0.
A Lew Ford two-run home run (2), followed by a solo shot by Rey Fuentes (5), put the Ducks up 6-0, which would be the final.
Travis Banwart (2-0) earned the win with six scoreless innings of two-hit ball and six strikeouts. David Holmberg (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing six runs- five earned- on eight hits in five innings pitched.
The 2019 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Friday, June 28th when the Patriots return to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the Long Island Ducks. The game includes Patriots Baseball Caps (1st 2,000) presented by Atlantic Health System.
