(Central Islip, N.Y., Sept. 13, 2006) - The Long Island Ducks and Camden Riversharks played an 18-inning contest that started on Tuesday and concluded with an 8-7 Riversharks win at 1:26 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

With the score knotted at seven in the top of the 18th, Luis Lopez hit the game-winning single off of Kevin Mannix.

Outfielder Jason Conti (1-0) picked up the win after tossing three scoreless innings of relief. Mannix (0-1) absorbed the loss after yielding a run on a hit and a walk in an inning of relief.

On Wednesday night, the Ducks and Riversharks will play game two of their three-game series at 7:05 p.m. Pat Mahomes (9-4) will take the hill against Camden's Jon McDonald (8-6). The first 1,500 fans will receive miniature Corvettes courtesy of Ramp Corvette.
