With the win, Camden clinches no worse than a tie for the first half title in the Liberty Division.

The Riversharks jumped out to an early lead, plating five runs on six hits before an out had been recorded. Ron Davenport, who left the game in the second following an outfield collision, delivered a two-run triple to get the Sharks on the board. Alberto Castillo had a double in his first at-bat for the visitors. The former New York Mets catcher would double again in the third and score on a two-bagger by L.J. Biernbaum. Camden went on to score four runs in the third inning to increase their lead to 9-0. The Ducks scored both of their runs in the eighth on back-to-back singles by Jay Gibbons and Jamie Pogue. Carl Everett and Dennis Donovan each had three hits for the Ducks.

Chris Young (5-5) worked seven and two-thirds innings for Camden, allowing two runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts. Donovan Osborne (0-4) took the loss, facing just five batters. The Ducks bullpen combined to allow only two hits and no runs over the final six innings of the ballgame.
