October 14, 2013 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY, Neb. - The Tri-City Storm organization is preparing for a special appearance by a cast member on cable's number-one TV program this weekend. Tim Guraedy, better known as "Mountain Man," on A&E's Duck Dynasty, will attend the Storm game against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Saturday, October 19. Mountain Man has been a recurring character on the popular show, which stars the Robertson family and their business of making duck calls.
The Storm have scheduled in-game entertainment before, including musical guests, special mascot characters and premium giveaways, but this is the first reality TV star to appear at the Viaero Event Center.
"We're always looking for new and exciting promotions to bring to Storm games," said Storm VP of Marketing Kyle Means. "With the recent popularity of the Duck Dynasty show, we thought bringing one of the characters here would be something our fans would really enjoy."
Mountain Man's appearance is part of Duck Dynasty Night, presented by Fiddelke Heating & Air. The slow-speaking, yet jovial character will greet fans, sign autographs, and partake in a ceremonial puck drop at the start of the game. Fans are encouraged to bring an item to be autographed, but photo-cards will be available free of charge at the game.
Part of the appeal of the show is the appearance of the main characters. Long beards and camouflage is the style of choice for the cast members and fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Duck Dynasty star.
Saturday's game gets underway at 7:05 p.m. Doors will open one hour prior to puck drop. Tickets are available at www.StormHockey.com or by calling 308-338-8011.
