
Dubnyk Reassigned To Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, has announced rookie goaltender Devan Dubnyk has been reassigned to Stockton from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.
Dubnyk will join the Thunder for today's home game against the Las Vegas Wranglers and is expected to start in net.
Dubnyk, 20, is ninth in the ECHL with a 2.57 goals-against-average and has compiled a 13-5-6 record with a .920 save percentage and one shutout. The 2004 NHL Entry Draft first-round pick (14th overall) of the Oilers stopped 17 shots in the second period at the 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game, and was ranked #2 among North American Goaltenders by the NHL Central Scouting Service prior to the 2004 draft.
The Calgary, Alberta native was recalled to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on January 31 and appeared in four games with the Penguins, going 2-1-0 with a 2.94 GAA and a .855 save percentage.
Dubnyk appeared in two NHL preseason games with Edmonton this year, posting a 1-1-0 record and a .965 save percentage, stopping 56 of 58 shots. Dubnyk shutout the Phoenix Coyotes in his preseason debut, making 27 saves in a 5-0 Oilers win on September 17.
The Thunder returns home for a 4:00 p.m. home game at Stockton Arena today against the Las Vegas Wranglers, part of "Devan Dubnyk" bobblehead day. The first 1,000 kids (ages 12 and under) in attendance will receive a commemorative Devan Dubnyk bobblehead doll.
