Duane Lewis Wins Willis of Texas N. Thomas Berry Commitment Cup

TEMPE, AZ (January 12, 2011) -The 2011 CHL All-Star Banquet took place on Tuesday night at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center with the highlight of the evening being the presentation of the 2011 Willis of Texas N. Thomas Berry Commitment Cup to Central Hockey League Commissioner Duane Lewis.

Joining CHL Commissioner Emeritus Tom Berry in presenting the award to Lewis was Willis Senior Vice President and longtime partner of the league Alex Fairly.

Lewis joined the league's front office more than 13 years ago serving as the Western Professional Hockey League's Manager of Hockey Operations. This after a brief professional playing career that saw him suit up with both the New Mexico Scorpions and the Amarillo Rattlers.

The Georgetown, Ontario native was appointed the Commissioner of the CHL in June 2008 and has been an instrumental component to the numerous league endeavors for more than a decade.

Lewis has had extensive experience in the administrative side of professional hockey, working in the National Hockey League's Officiating, Central Scouting and Public Relations departments while attending Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario.

The Commitment Cup is given each year at the CHL All-Star Game to a person who has shown great dedication and passion for not only the CHL but the sport of hockey.
