Tulsa, OK- The Tulsa Drillers three-game winning streak was snapped on Wednesday evening with a 7-0 loss to the Arkansas Travelers at ONEOK Field.
In the fifth inning, the Travelers added another pair of runs on a two-run home run to left field by Brian O'Keefe, extending their lead to seven.
Throughout the night, Tulsa struggled offensively, mustering just two hits in the contest. In the first six innings, a leadoff single from Miguel Vargas in the fourth inning was the lone piece of offense for Tulsa. In the seventh inning. Stevie Berman reached on a two-out single for Tulsa's second and final hit of the night.
Despite falling 7-0 in the ballgame, the Tulsa pitching staff struck out 16 Travelers hitters.
The Drillers bullpen combined for an outstanding 8.1 innings of action. Three pitchers combined to fan 15 hitters, while allowing just two runs. Against Tulsa relievers, Arkansas managed just three hits - all of which came in the fifth inning.
Austin Drury sparkled through 3.1 innings of work. In his second appearance since being promoted to Tulsa, the North Florida product held Arkansas hitless while striking out five.
Following Drury's strong effort, Jordan Martinson tossed a season-long 3.0 innings and struck out a season-high five hitters.
