North Little Rock, AR - The Tulsa Drillers won a wild four hour 48 minute 12 inning game 8-6 on Friday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Both the Travs and the Drillers scored three runs apiece in the 10th, and after Tulsa plated three in the top of the 12th, Arkansas again mounted a rally. SS Erick Salcedo started the 12th with a single, advanced to second on defensive indifference and scored on a 3B Drew Maggi RBI single. Still with no outs, 2B Sherman Johnson hit a ground rule double to right-center to put the tying run at second, but Arkansas could not push the runs across.

In the 10th, LF/RF Blake Gailen lined a game-tying two-run single to right with the Travs trailing 5-3.

The Travs trailed 1-0 in the sixth after Drillers 1B Lars Anderson blasted a home run to lead off the frame, but 1B Michael Snyder countered in the bottom of the sixth with a towering 418 foot leadoff blast of his own. A CF Chad Hinshaw RBI single in the sixth put Arkansas up 2-1 behind starter LHP Nate Smith.

Smith and Drillers starter RHP Jharel Cotton dueled for the second straight start. Smith surrendered the run on four hits with a walk and six strikeouts over six innings to lower his Texas League-leading ERA to 2.48.

Cotton walked a career-high seven batters, but did not allow a run over five innings.

Arkansas left 17 men on base and went 5-for-22 with runners in scoring position.

The Travs also stole five bases without getting caught stealing.

Salcedo, who made his Travs debut, finished 3-for-5 with three runs, two stolen bases a double and a walk.

Maggi also had three hits finishing 3-for-5 with a walk, run, double and RBI. Maggi also stole his team-leading 21st base of the season.

Johnson reached base five times going 2-for-4 with the double and three walks.

With the loss, Arkansas fell to 55-49 on the season and 19-16 in the second half, tied for first place with the Springfield Cardinals.

The Travelers and Drillers will play game three of the four-game set on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Dickey-Stephens Park.
