
Missions' Five-Run Sixth Inning Sinks RoughRiders

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (August 1, 2015) - Back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning from Hunter Renfroe and Yeison Asencio helped the San Antonio Missions comeback and win 5-4 against the Frisco RoughRiders on Saturday at Wolff Stadium. The homers capped a five-run frame for San Antonio, which erased a four-run deficit.
Frisco whacked Missions starter Justin Hancock with a a four-run third inning. Alex Burg knocked a three-run blast, his fourth home run with the Riders, and Lewis Brinson collected his first Double-A RBI with a triple to score Drew Robinson.
Edwar Cabrera was perfect through the first 4 1/3 innings, retiring all 13 batters before Asencio singled in the fifth. Cabrera allowed two straight hits in the sixth and was removed in favor for Adam Parks. Benji Gonzalez put the Missions on the board with a ground out and Alberth Martinez singled to cut the deficit in half, 4-2.
Renfroe belted his 14th home run to tie the game at four and the next batter, Asensio, tucked a line drive around the left field foul pole to give San Antonio a 5-4 lead. Parks (0-1) allowed three runs on three hits in one inning of relief.
Missions (15-21, 46-60) starter Justin Hancock allowed four runs on 10 hits over five innings. Eury De La Rosa (1-0) pitched two scoreless innings and Cody Hebner worked around a hit batter in the ninth to notch his first save.
The RoughRiders (17-18, 46-59) stranded 10 runners on base and finished just 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position. LHP Frank Lopez (3-4) will try to salvage the series finale on Sunday against RHP Casey Kelly (1-5) The team returns to Dr Pepper Ballpark on August 6 to play 10 games over an 11 day span.
