Drillers' rally gets Express late
August 21, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Round Rock Express News Release
A two-run ninth inning outburst from the Tulsa Drillers topped a three-run rally from the Round Rock Express in an 8-7 Tulsa victory.
Down 6-4 going into top of the ninth, Round Rock plated three runs off of Tulsa closer Justin Huisman. However, that was trumped when Huisman drove home the tying run in the bottom of the ninth and Javier Colina singled home the winning run to finish off the roller coaster game.
The Drillers led 4-0 after two innings before the Express awoke with four runs in the third, including a home run from Jacques Landry.
Tulsa scored twice in the fifth to chase starter Greg Powell, setting up the pair of ninth inning rallies.
Landry finished with a season high four RBIs and Mike Coolbaugh added a two-run double.
Huisman (5-2) ended up getting the win and Jory Coughenour (2-4) was the loser.
The four-game series will continue Thursday at 7 p.m.
