Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release
Tulsa, OK - Edwar Cabrera was dominant on the mound for the Tulsa Drillers and they defeated the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 6-0 on Monday night at ONEOK Field. The win puts the Drillers one game ahead of the Naturals in the North Division.
The Tulsa Drillers (34-28) wasted no time getting the offense going getting back-to-back doubles from Josh Rutledge and Angelys Nina to start the game and make it 1-0. Nolan Arenado reached on an error that scored Nina and made it 2-0.
The Drillers go a solo home run from Corey Dickerson that made it 3-0. The home run was the first of the season for Dickerson. Lars Davis and Michael Mitchell each added RBI hits to give the Drillers a five run lead. Elisaul Pimentel (2-4) got the start for the Naturals and went four innings allowing five runs, four of which were earned, while walking one and striking out two.
Cabrera (6-4) did not allow a hit until the sixth inning, when Yem Prades lad-off the inning with a single for the Naturals (33-29). He worked seven innings allowing just the one hit, while walking two and striking out five.
The same two teams meet tomorrow night at 7:05 PM as the Naturals look to retie the division. The Naturals will send Ethan Hollingsworth (0-1, 6.75) against the Drillers left-hander Nick Schmidt (3-3, 3.68). The game can be heard on ESPN 92.1 The Ticket.
