Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the West Michigan Whitecaps (affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) in the last game of a three-game series. This is game six of a 13-game, 14-day road trip for the Dragons. Dragons Record to Date on the Trip: 2-3.

Last Game: Sunday: Dayton 5, West Michigan 3. The Dragons scored four runs in the fifth inning to overcome a 2-1 deficit. The big inning was highlighted by back-to-back home runs including a two-run shot by Jose Garcia followed by a blast from Reshard Munroe. The Dragons bullpen had an excellent day. Relievers Miguel Aguilar (2.2 IP) and Brian Hunter (1 IP) combined to hold the lead to the ninth inning. John Ghyzel recorded the first two outs in the ninth before allowing a walk and a hit, and Ryan Nutof came on to get the final out and earn the save.

Playoff Chase: The Dragons must finish in the top two among eligible teams in the East Division in the Second Half (six teams competing; Bowling Green and Lansing ineligible). The Dragons currently are the #2 seed in the Second Half race, one-half game ahead of Fort Wayne.

2018 Team Notes

With a win today, the Dragons would earn their first series victory at West Michigan since June 26-28, 2013. Over the 2014-2017 seasons, the Dragons went 7-32 at West Michigan.

The Dragons are batting .329 with men in scoring position over the last eight games, going 25 for 76.

The Dragons have allowed three runs or less in 20 of their 43 second half games. Their second half ERA is 3.91 (5.31 in the first half).

2018 Individual Notes

Alejo Lopez over his last 20 games: 28 for 72, .389, to raise his average from .247 to .315. He has a nine-game hitting streak, going 16 for 38 (.421).

Jose Garcia over his last nine games: 13 for 37, .351, to raise his average from .221 to .233. He is batting .272 in the second half after hitting .202 in the first half.

Hendrik Clementina over his last eight games: 10 for 31 (.323) with three home runs, three doubles, and seven RBI.

J.D. Williams over his last six games: 9 for 22, .409, to raise his average from .203 to .250.
