
Michael Helman joins Kernels from Elizabethton

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that INF Michael Helman will join the Kernels from Elizabethton and INF Jose Miranda has been promoted to Fort Myers. Brian Maloney, Twins Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the move.
The Twins selected Helman in the 11th round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of Texas A&M. In 12 games at Elizabethton he was batting .375 (15-40) with 2 HR and 7 RBI.
Miranda has played in 104 games for the Kernels this year, batting .277 with 13 HR and a team-high 72 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the Lottery Round B (73rd overall) of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Leadership Christian Academy in Puerto Rico.
Helman is active and available for today's 12:05 PM game vs. Beloit. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with four players currently on the DL.
The Kernels wrap up a three-game home stand today at 12:05 PM vs. Beloit. They hit the road on Wednesday, August 8th for five games at Clinton and Quad Cities before returning to Perfect Game Field on Monday, August 13th to host Quad Cities at 6:35 PM.
