South Bend, Ind.-Juan Perez drove in the tying run and scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning Friday night as the Dayton Dragons rallied to defeat the South Bend Silver Hawks 6-4 and snap their five-game losing streak.
Dayton took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the eighth before South Bend scored three runs to jump ahead 4-3 entering the ninth. The Dragons answered with three runs in top of the ninth to regain the lead and hold on for the win.
Dayton's Brandon Dailey opened the top of the ninth with a line drive double to left-center field. Perez following with a double to left to bring in Dailey and tie the game at 4-4. Perez stole third and scored on a wild pitch to give Dayton the lead. Juan Silva delivered a run-scoring double later in the inning to give the Dragons their first three-run inning of 2012 and a 6-4 lead going to the bottom of the ninth.
Dragons reliever Kyle McMyne (1-0), who had come in to record the final out of the eighth, worked a scoreless ninth, allowing only a two-out single, to record the victory.
The Dragons broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth on a run-scoring single by Junior Arias and added a run in the fifth on a bases loaded walk to Steve Selsky.
Dayton starting pitcher Tanner Robles was outstanding in his second straight start in 2012. He worked six innings, allowing three hits and one run with three walks and two strikeouts. Robles left the game with a 3-1 lead but was not involved in the decision.
South Bend's three-run bottom of the eighth was keyed by a two-run pinch hit double by Bobby Stone that tied the game, and a triple by Tom Belza that gave them a brief 4-3 lead.
The Dragons collected 10 hits. Sean Buckley and Nick O'Shea each had two. Ryan Wright was on base four times with a double that appeared to clear the left field fence and bounce back onto the field along with two walks and a hit batsman.

Stalin Gerson (0-1, 8.31) will start for Dayton against South Bend's Jesse Darrah (1-0, 0.00).
