Draft to be Held Thursday at Local Restaurant

ROANOKE, Va., November 4, 2003 – The Roanoke Dazzle will host a NBDL Draft Party at Awful Arthur's, Towers Mall location, this Thursday from 6:30 – 9 p.m. Open to the public, the event provides fans, season ticket holders, corporate partners and local media an opportunity to listen via conference call and webstreaming as the Dazzle's coaching staff make their 2003 player selections.

The local event will provide fans an opportunity to watch head coach Kent Davison and assistant coach Mike Brown make their deciding 2003 draft selections. The event will feature food provided by Awful Arthur's, appearances by members of the 2003-04 Star City Squad dance team and live commentary on the Dazzle's draft picks.

The league's third draft will take place over 10 rounds and be conducted via conference call from various locations in each of the six NBDL markets beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The selection process will operate with each team having one pick in each of the 10 rounds. No trades will be permitted during the draft and only players signed to an NBDL Standard Player Contact will be eligible to be drafted.

NBA director of scouting, Marty Blake and son Ryan, compliment the event by providing player commentary to the webcast between selections.

The Huntsville Flight will make the first selection, followed by the Columbus Riverdragons. The Asheville Altitude will select third followed by the Dazzle, North Charleston Lowgators and the Fayetteville Patriots.

The Dazzle opens its preseason training camp on Saturday. The Dazzle will travel to face the University of Maryland in an Exhibition game on Nov. 18, then open the 2003-04 regular season on the road on Nov. 22 at Fayetteville and Nov. 28 at Charleston.

The Dazzle's regular-season home opener against Fayetteville is on Nov. 30. Opening week will feature Cox Communications Magnet Schedule Giveaway on the 30th, Nextel Rally Towel Giveaway and the first Dazzle-High School Doubleheader - Lord Botetourt vs. Hidden Valley- on December 5 and wrapping up on December 6 when the Philadelphia 76ers high-flying mascot "Hip-Hop" returns for a performance. All three Dazzle games will begin at 7 p.m.
