Published on November 4, 2003 under ECHL (ECHL) News Release

PRINCETON, N.J. - Pensacola defenseman Corey Neilson is the InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week for October 27-November 2.

Neilson had a power-play goal and six assists as Pensacola went 2-0 and extended its winning streak to 5-0. The Ice Pilots are 5-1-0 and are one point behind Gwinnett and two points ahead of Mississippi in the Central Division.

Selected by Edmonton in the third round (53rd overall) in the 1994 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Neilson scored a power-play goal and had an assist in Pensacola's 6-2 win against Columbus on Thursday giving him six points (2g-4a) in five games. Neilson assisted on five of the Ice Pilots' six goals in a 6-2 win over Mississippi on Saturday. The five assists are the most in an ECHL game this season and the five points ties the season high set by Texas' Cory Morgan, who had a goal and four assists in a 6-5 overtime loss at Greensboro on October 23.
