
Amidovski Named Runner-Up for ITECH Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week Award

The Dayton Bombers have announced that netminder Bujar Amidovski (pronounced BOO-yahr AM-ih-DOV-skee) has been selected Tuesday as a runner-up for the ITECH Hockey ECHL Saver (Goalie) of the Week award for October 27-November 2.
Amidovski went 2-0 during the Bombers' "three wins-in-three days" weekend. He stopped 29 shots to author the Bombers' first win of the season, a 4-1 triumph at Johnstown on Friday, October 31. On Saturday, he made 20 saves on 22 shots in a 5-2 home victory over Cincinnati. Goaltending partner Andrew Penner would cap the Bombers' perfect weekend by recording his first professional win in a 3-2 defeat versus Toledo on Sunday.
Amidovski, who is making a return to the ECHL in 2003-2004 after spending last season with the Port Huron Beacons of the UHL, was selected to participate in the ECHL All-Star Game on two previous occasions. Representing the Louisiana IceGators at the 1999 competition in Biloxi, Mississippi, Amidovski started for the Southern Conference and made 14 saves in a 7-4 win for his team. At the 2000 All-Star Game played in Greenville, South Carolina, Amidovski, 26, notched the win for the Northern Conference (representing the Trenton Titans), making 12 saves on 13 shots. Amidovski actually had a brief, three-game stint with the Bombers during the 1996-1997 campaign.
Roanoke's David Belitski won the ITECH Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week award by posting a 3-0-0 mark with a 1.67 goals against average and a .943 save percentage.
The Bombers' next game is Sunday, November 9 at Wheeling against the Nailers (6:00 p.m. game/ 5:45 p.m. broadcast time on www.daytonbombers.com- Media Center/Listen Live section- in association with www.broadcastmonsters.com). The Bombers will go head-to-head against their rivals from West Virginia during a Sunday evening affair. The Bombers will try to avenge a 6-0 pre-season loss to the Nailers on Wednesday, October 8 in Canonsburg, PA.
The Bombers' next home game is Sunday, November 16, 2003 vs. Peoria (4:00 p.m.). The Bombers will another 'Kids Silly Sunday' event, featuring many fun-filled activities for kids. It will also be another Bucky's Flight Crew day, presented by Office Depot. In addition, the Bombers will have a "Skate With Fans Session" after the game.
