Roanoke's Belitski Named ITECH Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Roanoke's David Belitski is the ITECH Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for October 27-November 2.

The 5-8 and 170-pound was 3-0-0 with a 1.67 goals against average and a .943 save percentage while helping the Express even its record at 4-4-0, tied for third place in the Southern Division with Greensboro and South Carolina.

Returning to North America after two seasons in Germany, Belitski made 21 saves in a 4-1 win at Greenville on Friday, and he had 33 saves and also picked up an assist in a 6-4 win against Greensboro on Saturday. Belitski closed out the weekend making 28 saves in a 2-0 win against Charlotte on Sunday.

In the last three games, Belitski has improved his record to 3-2-0 and lowered his goals against average from 3.89 to 2.57 while raising his save percentage from .875 to .914.

Belitski played in the ECHL with Louisiana and Pensacola in 2000-01 before returning to Germany where he played from 1997-98 to 2000-01. The 26-year-old Belitski was 0-0-1 with a 1.85 goals against average and a .943 save percentage in one game with Louisiana and 4-11-1 with a 2.92 goals against average and a .909 save percentage in 16 games with Pensacola.

Runners Up: Bujar Amidovski, Dayton (2-0-0, 1.50 GAA, .942 save pct.), Michael Garnett, Gwinnett (2-0-0, 1.96 GAA, .930 save pct.), Mark Magliarditi, Las Vegas (3-0-0, 2.92 GAA, .926 save pct.), and Martin Brouchu, Wheeling (2-0-1, 2.84 GAA, .906 save pct.)
