Downtown Trolley Route Expands to Include Bon Secours Wellness Arena

Greenville, S.C. - Greenville's downtown trolley route will be expanded to include a stop at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena beginning Fri., Oct. 23. The deviated trolley route will operate for hockey games and special events taking place at the arena on Thursdays through Sundays during normal trolley service hours, according to Greenlink officials.

The arena trolley route will deviate from N. Main Street to Academy Street, then turn right onto E. North Street. The trolley will stop in the drop-off lane on the E. North Street side of the arena near the ticket office. It will continue to Main Street where it will resume the normal trolley route. Greenlink will post alerts on its website on days when the special arena trolley route will operate.

"Bon Secours Wellness Arena is a popular entertainment and activity center in Greenville, and we're excited to be able to add it to the downtown trolley route," said Kathy Vass, Greenlink Manager of Development and Marketing. "Adding a trolley stop at the arena further promotes the downtown Greenville experience and better connects one of the city's largest entertainment venues to our terrific Main Street."

Arena General Manager Beth Paul added, "We are thrilled to have the Bon Secours Wellness Arena added to the trolley route. This is a great opportunity for guests coming to concerts, family shows, Swamp Rabbits hockey or Clemson basketball games, who will now have another safe, reliable option for getting to the Arena."

Owned and operated by Greenville Transit Authority/Greenlink, the downtown trolleys operate year round on Thursdays and Fridays from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m.; and Sundays from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. The fare-free trolleys are the result of a public-private partnership between Greenlink, the City of Greenville and The Greenville Drive.

In addition to the downtown trolleys, Greenlink provides fixed route bus service Monday through Saturday throughout Greenville County. The system also operates the Clemson Commuter, Clemson Connector, CU-ICAR/St. Francis Shuttle, and Greenville Area Paratransit (GAP), an ADA service for those unable to use Greenlink's fixed route buses.
