Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has partnered with Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, Entercom Rochester and WROC-TV News 8 to once again host a Downtown Career Fair on Friday, Apr. 6 from noon to 3:00 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
The Downtown Career Fair is an opportunity for local job seekers to connect with Rochester-area businesses that are currently hiring. The event, now in its fourth straight year, also includes admission to the Amerks' 7:05 p.m. home game later that night against the Belleville Senators at The Blue Cross Arena.
"Rochester Chamber and our RBA Staffing division are pleased to once again team up with the Rochester Americans for the Downtown Career Fair," said Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bob Duffy. "As I visit employers across the nine-county Finger Lakes region that we serve, a common theme that I hear is the difficulty in finding talent. There is not a lack of jobs, but a lack of qualified workers to fill them. The Downtown Career Fair gives both employers and job seekers a one-stop experience to connect and make mutually beneficial matches."
Since its inception, the Career Fair has welcomed over 2,500 job seekers and has averaged 60 local businesses at each event and it continues to grow each year.
Businesses can reserve their spot at the Downtown Career Fair for $300 ($150 for 501c-3 non-profit organizations) by visiting www.amerks.com/careerfair. The cost includes one table, two free parking spots for the day in the Civic Center Garage, 20 tickets to the Amerks game that night against Belleville and complimentary refreshments and snacks. Greater Rochester Chamber members can purchase their booth space for $250.
Job seeker registration for the event is free and includes one ticket voucher to the Amerks game as well as the opportunity to network with growing companies that have immediate job openings. Job seekers can save time at the door by registering in advance online at www.amerks.com/jobseeker.
"We're excited to bring back the Downtown Career Fair for the fourth straight year," said Rob Minter, Vice President of Business Operations for the Amerks. "This event has played a tremendous role in pairing qualified job seekers either looking to enter the workforce or expand their careers with several of Rochester's top businesses. The Amerks are proud to partner with Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, Entercom Rochester and WROC-TV News 8 for our next Career Fair as we look to build on past year's success."
To register your business or more information on the event, please contact Aaron Pennings in the Amerks Office at 585-286-9942 or via e-mail at aaron.pennings@amerks.com.
