Dogs Win Finale

August 12, 2023 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Mankato MoonDogs News Release

In a regular season filled with ups and downs it ended where everyone knew it would on a road trip to Waterloo. While the playoffs were not in the picture this year the MoonDogs wanted to end the season on a high note.

The MoonDogs would start out with some fireworks as Kai Roberts would tie the single season record for doubles at 22. Roberts then set the single season record for stolen bases at 37 both stats he also holds the MoonDogs career records with 37 doubles and 60 stolen bases. Kip Fougerousse would add to the fun with a deep solo shot to give the MoonDogs a two-run lead.

It would not take long for the Bucks to get back the runs from the MoonDogs as they would get one in the bottom of the first and again in the second tying it up and twos.

The MoonDogs and Bucks would trade scoreless innings until the Bucks would get one across the plate late in the sixth inning. The MoonDogs would not stand for that pushing three across in the seventh and never looking back.

This would end the MoonDogs season with a final score of 5-3 and a season mark of 38-30.
