The Situation
The Grizzlies and Idaho Steelheads have opened the series with three-straight one-goal games and two of three games going to overtime with Utah winning the only game decided in regulation on Friday 3-2.
Leading Scorers
Danick Paquette with four goals and Ryan Hayes with two goals and three assists lead the Grizzlies in scoring through the first three games of the series.
League Leaders
Danick Paquette is tied for the ECHL playoff lead with four goals and Ryan Hayes is tied for the league's playoff lead with three assists. Hayes is one point in back of the league's overall scoring lead. Paquette leads the ECHL with a plus-six in the playoffs so far. Brenden Walker is tied for fourth with 14 shots on goal.
Aggregate Scoring
Idaho has outscored Utah 10-9 in the three games through 187 minutes and 58 seconds.
Winning Streaks In Series?
Two-game winning streaks have been hard to come by this year with the Grizzlies and Steelheads and the start of this series has been no exception with the two teams alternating wins in three-straight games. Utah had one two-game winning streak against Idaho during the regular season with games on October 18 and December 1. Idaho's only two-game winning streak against Utah in the regular season came March 25-27. Three of the four games during the respective two-game winning streaks were tied in the third period.
No Lead Is Safe
Both teams have held at least one two-goal lead in the series, with Idaho blowing 2-0 leads in games one and two, before Utah rallied to tie each game. Utah had a 3-1 lead Saturday before the Steelheads scored two-straight. Idaho has held three leads in the series and been unable to hold all three. Utah has held two leads and held onto one for a win.
Regular Season Leads
During the regular season, the Grizzlies erased 8 Idaho leads while Idaho erased five Utah leads. Including the playoffs, the Grizzlies have now erased five two-goal leads by the Steelheads since October.
Going Past Regulation
The Grizzlies and Steelheads have now needed extra time to decide seven of 18 total games played this year. Utah was 4-1 past regulation in the preseason and regular season, but Idaho has taken both playoff games thus far.
Playoff Overtimes
The Grizzlies have gone past regulation in four of their last six playoff games and in six of their last ten playoff games overall.
