July 7, 2023 - Pacific Coast League (PCL)
Oklahoma City Comets News Release
The Oklahoma City Dodgers were unable to come back from an early deficit and went on to suffer a third straight defeat in a 10-1 loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes Friday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Albuquerque (8-2/35-50) built an 8-0 lead through two innings, scoring two runs in the first inning and six runs in the second inning, including back-to-back RBI doubles and a two-run RBI single by Daniel Montaño in the second inning. The Dodgers (6-4/56-27) scored their lone run of the night in the second inning on a RBI single by David Dahl. The Isotopes tacked on two more runs in the seventh inning to build a 10-1 advantage.
Of Note:
-The Dodgers have lost three consecutive games for the second time this season, matching their longest losing streak of the season (May 3-5) and fell to 6-4 in the second half of the PCL season and to 56-27 overall...Albuquerque now leads the six-game series, 3-1, as the Dodgers have lost three of the first four games of a series for the second time this season, first time since May 2-5 in El Paso and first time at home this season.
-The Dodgers have now lost four of their last five home games, as well as five of their last seven games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. OKC is 26-15 at home overall this season.
-The Isotopes scored six runs in the second inning, marking the second straight game the Dodgers allowed six runs in an inning against Albuquerque. Friday was the eighth time this season OKC allowed six or more runs in an inning.
-The 10 runs allowed by the Dodgers were the most given up by the team since a 10-6 loss to Las Vegas June 25 in OKC...The one run scored by the Dodgers was the team's lowest run total since a 1-0 win against Las Vegas June 21 and the sixth time this season the team was held to a season-low one run.
-Devin Mann connected on his 31st double of the season and his doubles total leads the Minors.
-The Dodgers pitching staff recorded 17 strikeouts - the second-most strikeouts by the staff in a game this season and one shy of their season-high mark of 18 strikeouts June 16 against Salt Lake in OKC.
-Drew Avans recorded two of OKC's five hits, including a double. Over his last two games, Avans is 4-for-10 with two doubles and two RBI.
