
Dittfurth Pitches Gem in Series Opener Blowout

The Sussex Skyhawks pounded their in-state rival New Jersey Jackals 10-0, behind the brilliant pitching performance of Ryan Dittfurth. Dittfurth fanned eleven, walked none, and faced two batters over the minimum in a complete game shutout.
He allowed just two baserunners on two basehits, and neither Jackal runner was able to reach scoring position. Eight of the Skyhawks' ten runs came in an eight run fifth inning explosion that was capped off by an Alex Frazier two-run homerun into leftcenter field.
The Skyhawks got eight hits in the inning, and Jackal starter Kevin Ool was charged all ten runs . Eight of the nine Skyhawk starters got a hit and Bobby Gandolfo had three doubles.
The second game of this three game set between the Skyhawks and Jackals begins tomorrow at 7:05. Trey Stephens(0-1) will match up against the Jackals' Ryan Pacyna(5-1), who has the third best earned run average in the league.
