The Nashua Pride got plenty of offensive production and a strong outing from starting pitcher Beau Hintz to move past Worcester and improve to 14-14 in the second half. Hintz allowed one run on six hits in seven innings of work, netting him his first win with Nashua. On offense, Pride RF John Ramistella turned in a big night, going 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI. 1B Chris Colabello also played well for Nashua. He too homered and finished the game 2-for-4. Nashua reliever Steve Palazzolo did not allow a run in two innings of relief in which he struck out three.

North Shore 6, Brockton 5

The North Shore Spirit edged Brockton to remain atop the Can-Am standings by a margin of two games. Spirit starting pitcher Gary Galvez pitched well, allowing three runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings to pick up his fifth win of the year. Despite a shaky ninth inning in which the Rox nearly tied the game, Derek Drage managed his 10th save, working around his four walks. Leading the way at the plate for the Spirit were RF Anton French and LF Mike Torres. The duo combined to go 6-for-9 with three runs scored and two RBI.

New Haven County 5, Grays 2

The New Haven County Cutters topped the Grays to keep pace with the first-place North Shore Spirit. The Cutters were victorious behind a good effort from starting pitcher Bucky Kosyk who allowed two runs, one earned on four hits while striking out six in 6 1/3 innings. Leading the way at the plate was New Haven Co. 1B Chris Gaskin, who was 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Cutters closer Andy Weimer rebounded from a rough outing last night to shut down the Grays in the ninth and notch his 15th save.

Atlantic City 10, Quebec 8

The Atlantic City Surf kept pace with first-place North Shore as well with a win over Quebec on the road. With the win, Atlantic City remains two games back of North Shore. Surf starting pitcher Brian Rodaway earned his 12th win of the year despite allowing five runs in seven innings. Rodaway surrendered six hits and three walks, but did strike out six en route to the victory. Leading the way offensively was DH Wil Quintana. He had a huge night, going 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and six RBI. Quebec LF Pat Scalabrini also had a good game in the losing effort. He was 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI.

Sussex 10, New Jersey 0

Sussex starting pitcher Ryan Dittfurth never really gave the New Jersey Jackals a chance in this one as he was simply superb. Dittfurth allowed just two hits and struck out 11 without surrendering a walk in a complete game shutout. With the win, Dittfurth's record improved to 6-5 on the year. Leading the way at the plate for Sussex was 2B Rob Gandolfo. He was 3-for-4 with three doubles, a run scored and three RBI. Skyhawks LF Alex Frazier homered in the game and was 1-for-4 with two RBI.
