Dillas reach out to area unemployed residents

AMARILLO, TX - Over the better part of the last four years, as part of their commitment to being an active and loyal partner in Amarillo and the Panhandle, the Dillas have taken an active approach to providing affordable family entertainment. With concession and tickets prices reasonably priced, a family can enjoy a night of crazy antics on the field and visiting with longtime friends in the grandstands.
But even with that, the Dillas want to make sure that residents who have been impacted with the loss of work can come out to the ballpark despite the financial burdens they face. The Amarillo Dillas Baseball Club announced this afternoon that they have made 100 free General Admission tickets, for three pre-selected Saturday homes games, available to area residents who are currently unemployed.
Under this offer, individuals who are receiving unemployment insurance benefits will be eligible to receive two free General Admission tickets to one of the three home dates, which include July 11th, July 25th, and August 8th.
"We (Dillas) truly believe that our purpose is to provide families with a place to enjoy quality time together", Dillas General Manager Mark Lee said. "Our mission statement says that we will provide affordable family entertainment and the unemployment program supports that declaration".
To qualify for these free tickets, individuals must provide documentation that shows they have been receiving unemployment benefits for a period of at least two weeks prior to the game they wish to attend. Unemployment tickets will be available, in person, on day of games only at the Ticket Windows located just inside the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa, which open at 5:05pm on Saturday home games. Tickets are on a first come first basis and limited to two per household.
Amarillo's first home stand of the season continues tonight against the Edinburg Roadrunners when the Dillas look to sweep the four-game series and move into first place. Tonight's game includes free admission courtesy of KVII PRONEWS 7 and the National Weather Service.
