Dillas host Thunder Saturday to begin eight-game home stand

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Dillas welcome the Coastal Bend Thunder this Saturday for a four-game series to begin an eight-game home stand. Saturday's game will begin at 7:05pm with Sunday's match-up starting at 6:05pm. The Dillas then host the Laredo Broncos on the last leg of the home stand which begins on Wednesday, August 12 and concludes on Saturday, August 15.
Saturdays' game marks the start of the Dillas two remaining home stands which both comprise of eight games, leaving just sixteen home games to be played during the regular season. Tickets are available at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa Ticket Windows, by phone at 806-342-0400 or in-person by visiting the Dillas Front Offices located at 801 South Polk Street in downtown Amarillo. Monday, August 10 - 2009 Summer Youth Baseball Camp
Youth between the ages of 7 and 14 will have the opportunity to receive instruction from Dillas' coaches and players on the fundamentals of hitting. Mondays' event is the make-up from previously scheduled camp date of Wednesday, July 29.
Registration/Check-In begins both days at 8:30am with camp instruction beginning at 9:00am. Cost is $25 to attend the one-day session. Pre-registration is available by phone or visiting the Dillas Front Offices located at 801 South Polk Street. Walk-up registration is welcomed.
Tuesday, August 11 - 2009 Infield Intensive Camp
The Dillas will host an Infield Instruction Camp on Tuesday, August 11th that will allow youth, between the ages of 7 and up, to learn the finer skills of playing the infield. Current Dillas players scheduled to instruct during the camp include Shortstop Willie James, Third Baseman Andrew Wong, and Second Baseman Carlos Figueroa. The camp will conclude with a competition that will allow campers to win special prizes including autographed Dillas memorabilia, tickets, and a 2009 Summer Youth Baseball Camp t-shirt.
The camp is designed to focus on the intensity of playing all infield positions and will last approximately two (2) hours starting at 10am. Cost for the one-day camp is $35 and interested participants can register in-person, the morning of the camp, or pre-register at the Amarillo Dillas Front Offices by calling 806-342-0400. On-site registration/check-in will begin at 9:30am.
The Amarillo Dillas Baseball Club is a charter member of United League Baseball, a Professional Independent League, with six teams playing in Texas. ULB teams are located in Amarillo, Coastal Bend, Edinburg, Harlingen, Laredo, and San Angelo.
