Game won was a seesaw battle with both teams exchanging the lead six times throughout the game. Both teams went scoreless through the first three innings, starting pitcher Luis Chirinos was solid in his short time on the mound going 3.1 innings pitched, only giving up two earned runs, on three hits, with two strikeouts. Both teams posed an offensive attack in the fourth inning with the SaltDogs taking a 2-1 lead over the Diablos, the lone run scored for the Diablos was by third baseman Edgar Corcino with an RBI single. Brian Joynt was the key to the Diablos early success contributing three of his four RBIs in the first two innings. Things stayed close through the next three innings, with the SaltDogs narrowing the Diablos lead to one going into the sixth inning. The Diablos came up big though in the sixth inning scoring two runs thanks to a wild pitch and a Jonathan Cisneros RBI double, not to be outmatched the SaltDogs scored two runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut it to 7-6, before Diablos relief pitcher Mike Koons came in the bottom of the sixth with two huge strikeouts to stop the damage, the Diablos went on to win by a final score of 7-6, to tie the series at 1-1.
