BATTLE CREEK, MICH. -- The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays will be honoring area Public Service Personnel at C.O. Brown Stadium on Saturday, August 20, for the 7:05 p.m. game against the Burlington Bees.

The Devil Rays and area businesses have collaborated to make this event possible. Waco Classic Airplanes, National City Mortgage and the Devil Rays will be bringing the public service personnel to the ballpark.

"The Police Force and Firefighters are very close to my heart personally," National City Morgage lender Vicki Cross said. "My husband is a 30-plus year veteran Police Officer and my brother is currently a Firefighter and EMT Director. I know what they have been through and look forward to this donation on their behalf."

"The Southwest Michigan community is important to us." Rays GM Martie Cordaro said. "This evening will be a special one and we hope additional area businesses will join us in sending public service personnel families to the game. I would like to extend a special thanks to Linda O'Keefe of Waco Classic Airplanes for her hard work and dedication in making this event possible."

Public Service Personnel such as the Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics will be honored before and during the game with first pitches and concourse displays. The Devil Rays are looking for more businesses to purchase tickets to donate to the men and women who risk their lives each day to make the Southwest Michigan community a better place to live in.
