Detroit City FC Signs Young Forward Bosh Tanyi

Detroit City FC has announced the signing of forward Barnabas 'Bosh' Tanyi on a USL Academy contract ahead of the 2023 season.

A 20-year-old originally from Debrecen, Hungary, played his high school soccer at Grosse Ile High School under the leadership of former Detroit City FC player and current youth coach Jon Evans.

He was part of two state-title-winning squads at Grosse Ile and won Michigan's most prestigious High School soccer award, Mr. Soccer.

Tanyi was a mainstay of the 2021 Detroit City FC U23 squad that won the Eastern Conference of the Midwest Premier League and was part of the 2022 USL Academy Cup squad that competed in Tampa, Florida.

Last season Tanyi made six appearances in the USL Championship for Detroit City FC, totalling 52 minutes of play. He is the second player signed to an academy contract for Le Rouge this season following the signing of Dominic Gasso.
