Despite Doyle's Hot Shooting, Bulls Lose 123-105

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, dropped their fifth contest in a row at the hands of the Canton Charge Friday night, 123-105.

Canton jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead to open up the scoring but the Bulls answered back with an 11-0 run of their own as both teams settled into their offense in a back-and-forth first quarter. Windy City led 29-26 heading into the second frame.

The Charge again pushed ahead, taking a 38-33 lead with seven minutes remaining in the half led by Tyler Cook with 12 points on 6-for-7 from the field and Cleveland Cavaliers Two-Way player Dean Wade with 11 points, four rebounds and one blocked shot.

The Bulls offense stagnated for a bit through the second quarter, but a deep three by Milton Doyle and fastbreak lay-ups by Simi Shittu and Justin Simon launched Windy City on a 7-0 run in the final minutes of the first half, stealing a 56-53 lead heading into the break.

Simon led the Bulls over the first 24 minutes with ten points, four rebounds and two steals. Doyle chipped in nine points and six assists including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.

Canton opened the second half on a 14-0 run, ten of those coming from Levi Randolph out of the University of Alabama to stretch the Charge lead to as many as 21.

Windy City found themselves down by fifteen heading into the final frame with Canton posting a 37-point surge out of the halftime locker room sparked by .560 shooting from the field and .406 from three-point range.

The lead grew to as many 31 for Canton in the fourth with the Charge notching 21 points on 19 Bulls turnovers, and three players posting 20 points or more including Cook (20), Randolph (21), and Sheldon Mac (21). Wade finished with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Leading the way for the Bulls were Doyle with 24 points including 7-for-12 from long range, eight assists and a steal, and V.J. Beachem with 15 points, four rebounds and three steals.

Windy City (11-17) will travel to Delaware to visit the Blue Coats on Wednesday before heading back home for a three-game stand beginning next Friday night against the Long Island Nets.
