Shooting Woes Stall Suns in Texas

FRISCO, Texas - The Northern Arizona Suns couldn't get much going all night in their 116-96 loss at the Texas Legends. The Suns (8-23) just missed out on finishing January with a winning record (6-7). The Legends (17-14) have won three of their last four games.
Playing for the first time this season at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas, on Friday night, the Suns made 31-of-81 (.383) from the field, including 9-of-30 (.300) from distance. The Suns had their 13-game streak of scoring 100+ points snapped, along with a 10-game run of making 10+ three-pointers. The Legends, meanwhile, made 48-of-103 (.466) from the field, including 16-of-40 (.400) from the three-point line.
Texas had just four free throw attempts on the night (2-of-4) compared to 17 by the Suns (14-of-17). The Legends outrebounded the Suns 61-39 and outscored them in the paint 60-38.
The Legends won this in wire-to-wire fashion after scoring the first seven points of the game. Texas led the entirety of the second half by double figures, leading by 32 points at one time.
Ike Nwamu led the Suns with 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including 3-of-4 from distance, in 24 minutes off the bench. This marks Nwamu's fifth 20+ point performance in his ninth game with the Suns. David Krämer scored a career-high 21 points (6-6 FT), to go with four rebounds in 22 minutes. In the second quarter, he scored 15 straight points for the Suns.
Jared Harper scored 14 points, as he became the first player in the NBA G League with 100 free throw makes this season. Jalen Lecque finished with 13 points on 6-of-14 shooting, five rebounds and five assists. He had two more incredible dunks tonight, found here and here. Tariq Owens recorded 11 rebounds and two blocks, to go with six points (3-3 FG).
Cameron Payne led the Legends with 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting, to go with six assists and two steals. Moses Brown had 20 points on 10-of-21 shooting, 11 rebounds and four blocks. Yadai Baba had 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 5-of-6 from distance, six rebounds and two steals.
The Suns get a break to regroup, next playing at home on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. MT against the Stockton Kings. The Legends face the Austin Spurs tomorrow at home at 6:30 p.m. MT.
