Design the Mask Winner Announced

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads are pleased to announce the winner of the Design the Mask contest. Congratulations to Irfan Jeyavudeen, a grade four student at Ridgewood Public School, for creating the winning design which was revealed at Sunday's Steelheads game against the Niagara IceDogs. The Design the Mask contest was created last season to encourage young fans to showcase their creativity. The Steelheads provided local schools, youth groups and minor sports teams with design templates to engage students, and received over 1,000 entries this season.

 

"We were absolutely thrilled to have received over 1,000 entries in our 2nd Design the Goalie Mask Contest. This is an excellent program for all kids to take part in and it is so cool to see all of the unique, creative designs that the kids come out with. I want to give a big thank you to all of our partners for taking part in this contest" said Scott Rogers, Steelheads Vice President and Director of Business Operations.

 

Ifran and his family were in attendance on Friday, February 23 as the Steelheads hosted the Niagara IceDogs. Irfan took part in the pre-game ceremony and received a Steelheads VIP experience.  

 

The Steelheads thank all of the Design the Mask participants, and congratulate Ifran again on the winning design!
