Dekanich Recalled to Nashville

Milwaukee, WI- Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Mark Dekanich from Milwaukee (AHL). In addition, the Admirals have recalled goaltender Jeremy Smith from the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.

Dekanich was one of the final two players assigned to the Admirals during 2010 Training Camp. Appearing in each of Milwaukee's first two games of 2010-11 this weekend, the North Vancouver, B.C., native posted a 1-0-0 record with a 1.22 goals-against average and a .951 save percentage. Selected 146th overall (fifth round) in the 2006 Entry Draft, Dekanich went 0-1-0 with a 2.11 goals-against average in two preseason games for Nashville. In 2009-10, he ranked fifth among AHL goaltenders in goals-against average (2.33), tied for fifth in shutouts (4) and tied for eighth in wins (27).

Last season Smith helped the Cyclones to the ECHL Championship and was named co-playoff MVP after posting a 9-7 record with a .907 save percentage and a 2.67 goals against average in the post-season. During the regular season he was 23-15-2 with a .899 goals against average and a 2.63 GAA in 42 games with Cincy and did not allow a goal in one game with the Admirals.

The Admirals are back at the Bradley Center Friday, October 15 at 7:00 versus the Chicago Wolves.
