Bridgewater, NJ -- The Somerset Patriots (71-44) won their third straight game on Wednesday night, 3-2 over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (50-66) behind a dominant performance by starter Deivi Garcia.

The Yankees No. 26 prospect, Garcia struck out 10 batters for the second time over his last three starts, allowing two runs on three hits in a season-high 6.1 innings of work.

Somerset took the game's initial lead on an RBI-single by Austin Wells in the bottom of the first inning. The Yankees No. 4 prospect collected his tenth multi-hit game at the Double-A level, including two key RBIs for the Patriots.

The Patriots fell behind in the fifth inning, when New Hampshire homered on back-to-back pitches to Will Robertson and Trevor Schwecke. These two pitches were two of only three hits allowed by Garcia in the game.

Somerset tied the game one inning later, when Wells singled home Everson Pereira with the game's tying run. Pereira tripled to start the rally for Somerset.

Andres Chaparro then brought home the game-winning run on an RBI-single that capped the night's scoring with two outs in the sixth inning.

Garcia (2-1) earned the victory, while left-handed pitcher Matt Minnick secured an eight-out save (3), allowing no hits with only one walk and three strikeouts to close out the game.

Somerset's third straight win vaults them to a season-high-tying 27 games over .500 entering Thursday.

The 2022 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Thursday night with another 7:05 p.m. first pitch at TD Bank Ballpark.

After striking out a career-high 11 batters his last time out, RHP Matt Sauer will start for the Patriots opposite RHP Luis Quinones for the Fisher Cats.
