Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliates of the Colorado Avalanche, announced Tuesday that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Sam Jardine for the 2016-17 season. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound blueliner made his professional debut last season with the Indy Fuel, posting two goals and three assists in 50 games. A former 6th round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks, Jardine also appeared in six games with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL during the 2015-16 season.
"Sam is a player that will provide a strong, steady defensive presence to our team," said Eagles head coach Aaron Schneekloth. "He comes from a great NCAA program, as well as time in the Chicago Blackhawks organization and he is now looking to continue to climb the ranks of professional hockey here in Colorado."
The Lacombe, Alberta native spent three seasons at Ohio State University, registering 32 points in 98 games and spending his senior season as an alternate captain for the Buckeyes. Jardine also spent two seasons at the junior level with the Camrose Kodiaks of the AJHL. In 104 games with the Kodiaks he would notch 52 points, while also being named to the AJHL All-Rookie Team in 2011 and the AJHL All-Star Team in 2012.
Season tickets for the 2016-17 season are on-sale now and can be reserved with a $50 deposit per seat by calling the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468). The 2016-17 regular season home schedule kicks off on Saturday, October 15th when the Eagles host the Rapid City Rush. A complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com.
